I had gone to visit my mother at about quarter to seven after starting to re-read Twilight, one of my personal favorites... I had gotten to chapter five or so, I don't quite remember, before I decided to stop. After I set the book down on the small blue sheepskin rug that lies next to my bed, (on top of the larger purple rug that covers the most of my floor)I had decided to go visit my mother who I had taken to waking up in the early hours of the morning.
She told me she was trying to get as much sleep as possible because that night she'd be leaving to work at around six, returning hours later. In fact, she hasn't even gotten in yet from taking inventory at a Target a few hours drive away. I decided to give her as much sleep as possible, and, to waste time, go on a walk before coming home and taking a shower.
I equipped myself with a chocolate coded energy bar, my i-pod and my current, favorite sweatshirt, a big black one that is much too big on me, but in a comfortable way. Once I was set, I headed out I put the Sony ear buds in their proper place only to find that, the volume was still set on full blast, and I was put to slight delay. Once I continued I was letting my feet guide me down the deserted road only taken up by those who had to go to work or others who were slightly on the same mind set as me and out for a walk, some even with their dogs.
I passed all with smiles and nods of greeting as dew glistened on everything it had managed to cling to, letting the sun allow every individual drop to glisten gently in the cool air. I had made my way around, letting time pass, hours going by without a care, my mind trained on the music which I had eventually started to mouth out with expression, even though in some cases the songs were newly downloaded and I barely knew any of the words.
Eventually I had decided to eat the small energy bar in my pocket, and upon finishing it ran up to my house which was near by so I could throw away the wrapper. Once that was done I was outside again, taking a longer route than before, eventually removing my sweatshirt, barely able to hear the sound of the zipper as music ran on in my head and ears.
Eventually, it all ended. I came back again, took my shower, allowing the hot waters to wash away any traces of my small excursion, finishing up with the song Everything Had Changed running through my tired mind.
Today, the cycle will repeat itself... I will once again immerse myself in the cool morning airs, letting music effect my pace and steps, not noticing anything besides my own path and the few I pass, greeting them with smiles and nods. I hope, that, today I will succeed, that today I'll be able to continue on being awake until the night comes, until I can sleep and let my mind wander along on it's nameless rout, venturing in places I may or may not have gone before, always taking a different route that I can never seem to trace.
